Buy A Boyfriend Summary

It wasn’t my expectation to fall into bed with the woman who won me at the bachelor auction.

I was only doing my grandma a favor, not looking for more than a shared dinner with the winner. Then again, I wasn’t expecting someone as hot as Isla to be my date.

She makes it clear that she’s down for a night in the sheets but bolts, leaving me holding my junk—literally. Which I figure, in the end, is all fine and good because love burned me before, and I …

I took a much-needed vacation from the handyman business I own with my brothers, Rent A Husband, only to return to find out they’d hired Isla, making me her boss.

And now I have to see her every day, and it’s getting harder to pretend I’m not still drawn to her. But I burned that bridge the night she was briefly in my bed, and any lust she had for me has turned to hatred.

Which is for the best because she has a new boyfriend, which is all the motivation I need to stay away from her. Until it’s not.

Buy A Boyfriend Review

I have been looking forward to reading Buy A Boyfriend ever since I finished reading Rent A husband which was the first book in The Abbott Brothers series.

So, I was incredibly excited to be receiving the ARC for the second book and the premise of the book sounded very interesting to me.

Because we ended the Rent A Husband with a hint that Isla and Travis knew each other and something bad had gone down and we came to find in this book that they had ended a date very badly.

Only for Isla to start working with the brothers and I was stoked on the idea of the tension between Travis and Isla and how they were going to go about it so imagine my disappointment when all that tension fizzled into the air when there was a 9 month time jump.

Don’t get me wrong the plot was still cute, it just wasn’t what I expected. I was low key hoping for a slow burn romance especially since Travis has had a negative experience in relationships and he is the grumpy brother.

The 9 month time jump just irked me a bit because it was a bit too convenient to ensure that Isla had integrated herself within the company she works for as well as the people in it and when Travis was finally back in town it was all instant attraction. But, this is just me, if I switch off my brain I still enjoy the book either way.

Halfway through the book I was worried that this book will be all fluff and no depth but I was happily mistaken on this end and there was depth especially for our male lead, Travis, where we get to understand how his last relationship really messed him up.

And to be frank, I could relate to how he felt, it’s never nice dealing with someone who is snarky and says underhanded mean comments especially if it’s from a romantic partner.

Overall, Buy A Boyfriend has a cute and simple romance for those looking for an easy fast read.
