When This Snow Settles Summary
Ivy Lawson is back in New York City planning a red-carpet charity event for Sparks Wellness. She jumped at the chance to lead the project, even though it means spending a few weeks away from home — and from her grumpy lodge owner, Holland Holt.
Although life has changed since her fateful stay at The Emerald Canopy Lodge, Ivy still can’t shake the feeling that if something can go wrong, it will.
Meanwhile, Holland is back at the lodge, dealing with his own challenges, including a life-changing decision he needs to make. He’s been keeping it a secret from Ivy, which has only made things more difficult.
Just before the charity event, Ivy and Holland manage to spend a few days together, but a severe snowstorm hits, bringing ice and chaos. What can be salvaged? And what will be lost?
When The Snow Settles Review
This book was an alright read for me. I didn’t hate it but neither did I enjoy it as much as I hoped I would. Which is disappointing because I loved reading You Play To Call so I wrongly assumed that I would love reading When The Snow Settles too.
Now don’t get me wrong, nothing was inherently wrong with this novella. This is purely a me issue because I for one didn’t read the novel that this novella is a continuation of so whilst the novella can be read as a stand-alone I couldn’t really immerse myself in the characters and the setting because I didn’t have that repertoire from the novel.
Also Ivy has anxiety and as a person who also has anxiety, I don’t like reading about it especially when books are my source of escapism. So, it’s not really escaping from reality when the characters to the books I am reading also have issues I deal with in reality.
Or maybe when I read this book my mental health wasn’t the best either but either way I have nothing against the author, I still think their writing is awesome and I can’t wait to read their new book Your Rule To Break.
